Description:

Instructor or Assistant Teaching Professor of Spanish 

The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures at the University of
Missouri-Columbia seeks an Instructor or Assistant Teaching Professor
beginning January 2011 to coordinate the third level of the Elementary
Spanish Program and mentor the graduate and assistant instructors. The
teaching load, in addition to coordination duties, is 18 credit hours per
year (generally 3 classes per semester involving 2 preparations). The
nine-month non-tenure track appointment is renewable annually. 

Minimum qualification for the successful candidate is MA in Spanish; PhD in
Applied Linguistics or Second Language Acquisition and experience
coordinating a beginning language program is preferred. Native or
native-like proficiency in both Spanish and English is required, and
experience or interest in instructional technology highly desirable. The
salary range is $35,000 to $40,000 a year commensurate with qualifications.
