Description:

The Department of English, Linguistics, and Communication at the University
of Mary Washington invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track
faculty position at the rank of assistant professor in the field of
sociolinguistics.

Preferred Qualifications: Preferred specialization in discourse analysis,
including critical discourse analysis. Secondary specializations in one or
more of the following areas welcome: cross-cultural communication, language
and culture, language and identity, language and power, and language
variation and change.  

Four-course teaching load per semester, including introduction to
linguistics and upper-level linguistics. Opportunities exist to develop
courses in specialties.   

Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in Linguistics completed by August 15, 2011.
