32nd Annual Conference of Linguistic Society of Nepal 
Kathmandu
November 26-27, 2011

The Linguistic Society of Nepal (LSN) announces its 32nd Annual Conference to be held on November 26-27, 2011 in Kathmandu. The conference is one of the major activities of the Society which aims to provide a platform for linguists, emerging linguists and practitioners working on the various aspects and fields of language from home and abroad. 

Linguistic Society of Nepal was founded in 1979 to create a platform for the linguists both from Nepal and abroad who are working in the languages of Nepal. The Society with around 250 Life Members has already hold 31 conferences successfully on the same date November 26-27 annually and has published 25 volumes of the journal 'Nepalese Linguistics' and three special publications on linguistics. The papers are called from any areas of general, theoretical and applied linguistics. 

Call for Papers:
 
Papers are invited on theoretical, descriptive, interdisciplinary, or applied aspects of language studies. Some major areas are specified below: 

- Phonetics
- Phonology
- Morphology
- Syntax
- Historical linguistics 
- Sociolinguistics
- Semantics and lexical studies
- Mother-tongue and multilingual education
- Indigenous languages
- Corpus and computational linguistics
- Natural language processing
- Typological studies
- Applied linguistics
- Language teaching
- Language policy and planning
- Discourse analysis
- Language and technology 

Please submit an electronic copy of abstract:

- In the English language
- With Times New Roman or equivalent font, and IPA Unicode for the data in other languages; only Unicode fonts can be used for other scripts if it is necessary
- In MS Word format and its PDF file
- Please limit the abstract between 100-150 words excluding title
- Please include full name (s), title (s), affiliation (s), and contact of the presenter (s) with the abstract
- Please submit it by or before September 30, 2011 at 32lsnktm at gmail.com

The abstracts will be peer reviewed and presenters will be notified the result by October 15.
