Meeting Description:

We are proud to announce that the 20th Conference of the Student Organization of Linguistics in Europe (ConSOLE XX) will take place from January 5 - 7, 2012 at the University of Leipzig. The conference will be hosted by the Department of Linguistics.

Rajesh Bhatt (University of Massachusetts at Amherst)
Sigrid Beck (University of Tübingen)
Andrew Nevins (University College London)
Marc van Oostendorp (Meertens Instituut, Amsterdam) 

Furthermore, we are delighted that on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of ConSOLE Marcel den Dikken (CUNY) will take part in the conference. He will give a talk in the evening of January 4, 2012 and a short introduction on the history of ConSOLE during the opening ceremony on January 5. 

Call for Papers:

Graduate students not having defended a Ph.D. in Linguistics by September 9th are invited to submit abstracts in theoretical phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics. Submissions in other areas, e.g. psycholinguistics, neurolinguistics, and phonetics are also welcome if their theoretical significance is made clear. Papers are allotted 30 minutes for presentation plus 10 minutes for discussion.

Abstracts should not exceed two pages, including data, references and diagrams. Abstracts should be typed in at least 11-point font, with one-inch margins (letter-size; 8.5 by 11 inch or A4) and a maximum of 50 lines of text per page. Abstracts must be anonymous and submissions are limited to 1 individual and 1 joint abstract per author. Only abstracts in pdf format will be considered.
