Meeting Description:

The graduate students of the Department of Spanish and Portuguese Studies at the University of Florida cordially invite submissions for their 7th Annual Interdisciplinary Colloquium on Spanish, Portuguese and Catalan Linguistics, Literature, and Cultures on February 23-25, 2012.

Our confirmed key note speaker will be Dr. Elena Valenzuela from the University of Ottawa, Canada.

In lieu of registration fees, donations may be made to the Department of Spanish and Portuguese Studies via checks made out to UF Foundation. Please make the donation payable to the University of Florida Foundation and write the acct number in the memo space. The number is F016100. We suggest a donation of $40 early donation or $50 on-site. For the early donation, you are very welcome to mail to:

Call for Papers:

We will accept proposals both for individual papers and whole panels (with a maximum of three presentations). Please send your one-page, single-spaced abstract of approximately 250 words with title attached as an MS-Word document to coloquiouf at gmail.com by December 20, 2011. 

Abstracts and papers can be submitted in English, Spanish, Portuguese or Catalan. Specify in the subject line whether your abstract is intended for Linguistics, Literature, or Humanities in general, and whether it is written in English, Spanish, Portuguese or Catalan. For example: 'Submission Linguistics Catalan.' 

Please inform us if you are using any kind of technology for your presentation. Be sure to include your name, institutional affiliation and email address as well as a brief biography.

All presentations will have a 20-minute limit. The selection committee will respond to proposals as soon as possible.
