Short Title: OCP9

Date: 18-Jan-2012 - 21-Jan-2012
Location: Berlin, Germany
Contact: Laura Downing

Meeting URL: http://www.zas.gwz-berlin.de/workshop_ocp9.html

Linguistic Field(s): Phonology

Meeting Description:

The 9th edition of the Old World Conference in Phonology (OCP9) will take place at the ZAS in Berlin, on 18-21 January 2012.

Local Organizing Committee:

Laura J. Downing (ZAS, Berlin)
Annie Rialland (LPP, Paris)
Jochen Trommer (Leipzig)
Ruben van de Vijver (Uni Potsdam)
Marzena Zygis (ZAS, Berlin)

It will follow in the line of previous OCP conferences which have been held in Leiden, Tromsø, Budapest, Rhodes, Toulouse, Edinburgh, Nice and Marrakech.

The main conference will focus on the interfaces between phonology and other areas of linguistics (phonetics, morphology, semantics, pragmatics), but abstracts can be submitted on any topic in phonology.

There is also a one-day thematic pre-conference workshop on 'The Phonology-Syntax Interface' (organized by the BantuPsyn ANR-DFG project).

Keynote Speakers for the Workshop and Main Conference:

- Caroline Féry (Uni Frankfurt)
- Edward Flemming (MIT)
- Sharon Peperkamp (Laboratoire de Sciences Cognitives et Psycholinguistique, Paris)
- Ricardo Bermúdez-Otero (University of Manchester)

We are pleased to announce that the complete program for OCP9 has now been posted on the conference website.

Other important links have also been added:

- Registration: We would like to ask everyone who plans to attend the conference to please register online through the website. We will be charging a modest registration fee (50 Euros for non-students/30 Euros for students) which includes the conference dinner. Even if you do not plan to attend the dinner, Please Register, as we need the registration list for many practical things: making name tags and conference folders, ordering catering, etc.

- Accommodation: We have posted information to help you find accommodation in Berlin. The conference venues are in the center of Berlin, with a choice of hotels in a range of prices close by. However, the Bread and Butter design fair is being held in Berlin at the same time as the conference, so do book accommodation early!

We look forward to seeing all of you in Berlin in January!

Best wishes,

OCP9 Organizing Committee
