Abstract:

Diese Arbeit ist eine materialorientierte Untersuchung der Entwicklung der 
sog. Basic Words im Persischen seit ihren ersten Bezeugungen im 
Altpersischen im 5. Jh. v. Chr. bis zu den modernen Dialekten des 
Neupersischen, Fārsi, Dari und Tadschiki; besonders die Situation im 
Neupersischen wird durch eine Vielzahl von Belegen fundiert. Die Leitfrage 
ist, wie sich diese Entwicklung in der fast dreitausendjährigen Geschichte 
des Persischen skizzieren lässt, das seit seinen frühesten Belegen stets in 
einer intensiven, durch die Geschichte und geopolitische Lage Irans 
bedingten Wechselbeziehung mit fremden Völkern und Kulturen und als 
Konsequenz auch mit deren Sprachen steht. 

Diese Idiome können als Sub- oder Substrat fungieren und unterschiedlichen 
Sprachtypen angehören, wie das Elamische, das Medische, das Griechische, 
das Aramäische, das Parthische, das Arabische, die Turksprachen, das 
Mongolische sowie europäische Sprachen. Es geht darum, ob man eher von 
Kontinuität oder Diskontinuität des persischen Elements reden kann. 
Letzteres trifft zu, wenn sich zunehmend Lehnwörter etabliert haben. Als 
Basic-Words-Korpus dient die 100-Item-Liste von SWADESH (1955). Die 
Items werden jedoch nicht als bereits bestehende Lexeme, sondern als 
vorsprachliche Konzepte mit Universalcharakter definiert, weshalb ihnen eine 
minimal distinktive Komponentenstruktur zugesprochen wird. Anhand von 
Belegen wird dann die Versprachlichung der Basic-Words-Konzepte (I-
Lexeme) verfolgt.
