Description:

The Department of Linguistics and Communication Disorders of Queens 
College of the City University of New York seeks to fill a tenure-track 
position at the Assistant Professor or Lecturer title in the Fall of 2012. Salary: 
commensurate with qualifications and achievement; excellent benefits. The 
person who fills this position will teach in bachelor's and master's programs 
in TESOL and applied linguistics. Candidates must have a specialization in 
ESOL teacher education, with emphasis on testing and assessment, student 
teacher supervision, and literacy. Experience with urban schools is 
desirable. Candidates for the Assistant Professor title must have earned a 
doctorate in Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, Educational Linguistics, or a 
related field; they must have a strong commitment to research and evidence 
promise of excellence in teaching and scholarship. Candidates for the 
Lecturer title must have earned a master's degree in Linguistics, Applied 
Linguistics, Educational Linguistics, or a related field; they must evidence 
promise of excellence in teaching. A minimum of 5 years of teaching 
experience in an ESL or Bilingual classroom is desirable.  

Candidates should submit a letter of application and a current curriculum 
vitae. In addition, letters of reference should be submitted directly by three 
professional recommenders. This position will be open until filled; the review 
of applications will begin on February 15, 2012. All application materials
