Description:

Starting as soon as possible, the Carl-von-Ossietzky University Oldenburg 
offers a position running 2 years in the interdisciplinary DFG-Project (see 
http://www.uni-oldenburg.de/aulin).

"Understanding speech under fluctuating noise in children and adults from 
an audiological and psycholinguistic point of view (AULIN)"

One Doctoral Student (Wissenschaftliche 
Mitarbeiterinnen/Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiter; Entgeltgruppe 13 TV-L)

This position is funded for 24 months. Salary level will be according to 
German public employee pay scale 50 % 13 TV-L (=19,9 hours a week). 
The position is expected to lead to a Dissertation and PhD.

Tasks:
Developing and running experiments (reaction time studies) with several 
populations, among other techniques also eye-tracking (in close 
cooperation with audiology).

Required is a Masters (or Staatsexamen) degree with excellent grades 
and a focus on (psycho)linguistics; working knowledge of German as 
required in the interaction with the participants of the experiments; the 
ability to work in an interdisciplinary team; knowledge of theories of 
language processing; knowledge of methods for statistical analysis. 

Desired are research experience in (psycho)linguistics, good knowledge 
of (generative) syntax theories and experience with planning, running and 
analysing psycholinguistic experiments. 

Special Qualification:
Since the positions entail close interdisciplinary cooperation with 
audiologists, the willingness and ability to integrate methods, concepts 
and issues of the 'other' discipline into theories, concepts and methods 
current in one's own are required for successful work in this project.
