Description:

The Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania invites
applications for a Lecturer in Teaching English to Speakers of Other
Languages (TESOL). The position involves a 12-month contractual
appointment. Initial appointment will be for one year with a possibility
for renewal. Responsibilities include teaching courses in TESOL and
Intercultural Communication (ICC) Masters degree programs, coordinating
field experiences for TESOL students, assisting with preparation and
ongoing needs of TESOL workshops, pursuing external funding for the
education of pre-service Master's students and in-service practitioners in
the teaching of language and literacy. Qualifications include an earned
doctorate in TESOL or a related field. Ideal candidates will have expertise
in language learning and teaching in K-12 schools and/or community
programs, in national or international contexts. The most competitive
candidates will be able to provide evidence through their own research,
publication and/or practice of leadership in addressing the language and
literacy needs of linguistically and culturally diverse populations. The
