We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually
best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is
then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we
would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.

In addition to posting a summary, we'd like to remind people that it
is usually a good idea to personally thank those individuals who have
taken the trouble to respond to the query.

To post to LINGUIST, use our convenient web form at

I am researching synchronous and asynchronous computer-mediated
interaction among second language (L2) learners. The data I have
collected consists of task-based chat discussions among learners of
German, and I am looking to expand my study to include other
computer-mediated L2 data, i.e. second/foreign language chats, texts,
and emails.

Most L2 corpora contain written texts, such as essays/compositions
(Chinese Learner English Corpus, Uppsala Student English Project,
International Corpus of Learner English, Longman Learners' Corpus).
A few contain speech (ISLE Speech Corpus). Thus far, I have only
been able to locate one corpus of computer-mediated learner
discourse, namely Julie Belz' Telekorp of German L1/L2. Does anyone
know of any other L2 (including English as L2) corpora I might be able
to access?

I will post a summary of the replies.

Thank you,
Ilona Vandergriff
