Meeting Description:

Carson-Newman College's Department of Philosophy, Linguistics, and World Languages will host an Interdisciplinary Symposium on Language from 1-5pm on April 7, 2011 to showcase its growing Interdisciplinary Linguistics Program and to provide an opportunity for dialogue between members of the C~N community and others in East Tennessee who share an interest in language. 

Participants will give 20-minute conference-style presentations or lectures on any aspect of their discipline that relates to the notion of 'language.' We hope to draw presentations from a number of disciplines, including linguistics, philosophy, foreign languages and literatures, communications, education, English, TESL, history, law, political science, communicative disorders, mathematics, computer science, psychology, sociology, etc.

If you are interested in participating, please send a title and brief description of your proposed talk by Tuesday, March 15, 2011 to Dr. Andrea L. Menz at amenz at cn.edu.
