Description:

The Department of Languages & Linguistics at New Mexico State University
seeks applicants for the position of Assistant Professor of
Linguistics/French. Ph.D. required. ABD candidates will be considered but
Ph.D. must be complete prior to beginning of the appointment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to teaching introductory and
advanced courses in Linguistics (in English) at the undergraduate and
graduate levels and French language and culture courses (in French) at
undergraduate level. Native/near-native proficiency in both instructional
languages is required. Teaching and research background in one or more of
the following areas are preferred: syntax, morphology, phonology,
pragmatics, and/or semantics. Willingness to teach courses in a partially
or totally web-supported format. Ability to teach the occasional
introductory and intermediate undergraduate German language courses a plus.

recent letters of recommendation to the address below. Formal screening
