Description:

Language Lab Director is a faculty position in the Department of World 
Languages and Literatures that provides technical, pedagogical, and didactic 
support to students and faculty in the Department. Since language lab operates 
on the year-round basis, with intensive work required during the summer, the 
directorship is a 12-month AAUP position as per Article 10.6.1.1 of the 
Collective Bargaining Agreement. The Director of Language Lab receives nine 
(9) hours of reassigned time during each of the Fall and Spring semesters and is 
expected to contribute an equivalent of 9 credits during the summer months to 
complete responsibilities directing the language lab. 

Successful candidate will be expected to provide technological support to the 
faculty and students in the Department of WLL; provide faculty with both 
pedagogical and technical advice; advise and train faculty and students in the 
use of software and equipment; introduce new technological devices and 
software to faculty and students; coordinate technological support; train lab 
assistants;  compile the schedules for lab portions of language classes;  
coordinate the lab assistants to ensure that they are present and capable of 
providing support to students and faculty; teach one course each semester in 
one of the world languages offered by the Department or in the TESOL program.
