Linguistic Field(s): Applied Linguistics; Computational Linguistics

Call Deadline: 31-Jan-2011

Meeting Description:

In line with recent technological developments, the past 10 years has
seen the explosive growth of the World Wide Web, electronic mail,
Internet publishing, etc. This mass connectivity has amplified the
demand for software tools and appliances for processing natural
language texts, and has led to a further growth in information
communication technologies (ICT) in various fields of humanities.
Likewise, mediated communication and teaching through computers
and mobile technologies, computational modeling of language
processes and natural language processing have become ubiquitous
and commonplace. Consequently, new modes of communication
behavior have been facilitated by these technological breakthroughs. In
the last decades, the overlap between disciplines like computer
sciences, linguistics and other fields of enquiry interested in both
language and ICT has become more evident through areas like
textmining, natural language processing natural (NLP), virtual language
teaching, etc...

The Higher institute of the Applied Languages and Computer Science is
