We are happy to announce that the 42nd Poznan Linguistic Meeting (PLM2011) will take place on 1-3 May 2011 in Poznan, Poland. The Meeting will be organised by the School of English, Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznan. The leitmotif will be 'Language, Discourse and Society: Collective and Individual Aspects of Social Dynamics'.

Please note that the conference will be held in Poznan rather than Gniezno (as was the case in 2008-2010).

We would like to remind those who are considering submission for the 42nd Poznan Linguistic Meeting (PLM2011) that the deadline for papers, posters and workshop session papers is January 21st, 2011. We invite submissions of abstracts for oral presentations at ten special thematic discussion sessions. We also invite abstracts for oral or poster presentations at the general sessions (not necessarily related to the conference theme).

The ten thematic discussion sessions are as follows:

*Experimental and innovative methodologies in sociolinguistics
