Linguistic Field(s): Language Acquisition; Neurolinguistics; Phonetics

Call Deadline: 15-Feb-2011

Meeting Description:

The 2nd Nordic Conference of Clinical Linguistics will be hosted by the Research Group in Clinical Linguistics and Language Acquisition at the Department of Linguistics and Scandinavian Studies, University of Oslo, Norway.

The program will consist of a combination of plenary talks and general oral and poster sessions on topics related to clinical linguistics, including clinical phonetics and assessment, treatment and methodology in speech and language pathology.

Call for Papers:

For NorClinLing 2011 you are invited to submit abstracts for oral presentations of research papers. Graduate and PhD-students are invited to submit abstracts for a poster session.

New: The deadline for abstract submission is extended to February 15, 2011. All abstracts will be evaluated through peer reviewing, and authors will be notified by March 10, 2011.

Guidelines for submission of abstracts:

Abstracts for oral presentations:

The abstract should be based on research that is completed or clearly in progress, with a well-formulated research question and a good description of the types of data used (if the work is empirical), the theoretical and methodological approach and the results/conclusions. Since the reviewing process is anonymous, names of the authors should not be included in the abstract. Abstracts must not exceed 500 words (excluding title and references). You will have 20 minutes to present the paper, five minutes for discussion and five minutes for moving between sessions.

Abstracts for posters:

The abstract may be based on research that is completed or clearly in progress, with a well-formulated research question and a good description of the types of data used (if the work is empirical), the theoretical and methodological approach and the results/conclusions. However, a clear description of a research design may also be acceptable, as this can lead to useful discussions in the early stages of a project. Since the reviewing process is anonymous, names of the authors should not be included in the abstract. Abstracts must not exceed 500 words (excluding title and references). The poster session will include a short, oral presentation (3-5 minutes) in plenum by the poster presenter. The presenters are also expected to be present at their poster for discussion.

Language:

The official language of the conference is English. Posters and oral presentations must therefore be in English.

Deadline for abstract submission: February 15, 2011

Submit your abstract as an attachment (word document or pdf-file) to
