Meeting Description:

School of English at Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznan, cordially invites you to the 10th Medieval English Studies Symposium. This year, to commemorate our tenth anniversary, we wish to host parallel sessions on linguistics and literature, hoping to attract specialists in the fields of both medieval linguistics and literature. There are two plenary lectures, at least two parallel sessions and over twenty section meetings planned.  The linguistic sessions will be devoted to the history of the English language in the Middle Ages dealing with a variety of linguistic sub-fields covering syntactic, phonological, morphological and semantic aspects of the language.

Call for Papers:

Paper Proposals:

You are cordially invited to put forward proposals for 20-minute papers (a 10-minute discussion slot is planned after each paper). All diachronic research on the English language of the broadly understood Middle Ages is welcome. 

Abstracts:

500-word abstracts should be submitted by the end of August 2011, preferably by e-mail (mess at ifa.amu.edu.pl), in the .rtf or .doc (Word for Windows) format. As the number of paper slots is limited, all proposals will be reviewed by the organising committee and the authors will be notified about acceptance by mid-September 2011. 

Participants without papers are also welcome.
