2nd International Communication Studies Conference 
University of Botswana
July 8-13, 2012

The aim of the 2nd International Communication Studies Conference is to
deliberate on the advances in academic, business, and professional
communication in the global community. Organized by the Communication
Studies Skills Unit, Centre for Academic Development, University of
Botswana, the conference will be in two parts: 1) a pre-conference workshop
and 2) the communication conference.

Keynote Speakers:

Prof. Ken Hyland: Chair Applied Linguistics & Director Centre for Applied
English Studies, University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong
Prof. Keyan Tomaseli: Director of the Centre for Communication, Media and
Society, University of Kwazulu Natal, South Africa
Prof. Nogav Puth: Chair, Department of Marketing & Communication
Management, University of Pretoria, South Africa
Prof. Levi Obonyo: Communication Department, Daystar University, Kenya

Pre-conference workshop: July 8-10, 2012. It will focus on the following

Travel, Board & Lodging:

Participants will be responsible for making their own arrangements for
travel, board and lodging. However, transport will be available to take
participants from Sir Seretse Khama International Airport to the respective
lodges at the beginning of the conference and to take participants to the
airport at the end of the conference. Moreover, those staying in the major
hotels will be picked up by the hotel shuttle services. Kindly indicate the
date and time of arrival of your flight so that transport is arranged for
you. The conference organizers will furnish participants with information
on the availability of hotels, motels and lodges in Gaborone. Details of
accommodation and visa requirements will be communicated to participants
shortly upon receiving their abstracts. 

Call for Papers:

Submission of Abstracts:

Submissions are invited for individual papers, posters, and colloquia.
Abstracts of not more than 200 words should be e-mailed to the following
panel:

Authors should present the abstracts in 1.5 inch spacing, Times New Roman
12, with the author(s) names, affiliation and contact details (postal
address, fax, phone, email) included. The sub-themes should be specified.
The abstracts submitted will be reviewed by a sub-committee of the
conference committee before final acceptance of the proposal for
presentation at the conference. After the acceptance of the abstract, the
author or authors should write up the conference paper and be ready to
present it paper at the conference.
