Description:

AHRC Doctoral Studentship in Russian: the German Language in Russia

The doctoral student will belong to a research team based in the Department of
Russian which will be working from 1 August 2011 for a period of three years on
a multidisciplinary project funded by the AHRC on 'The History of the French
Language in Russia'. While the overall project is on French language in Russia,
the doctoral student will extend the scope of the project by writing a thesis
which explores some aspect of the history of the German language in Russia.

The student awarded this studentship will be working within a subject area that
has already been broadly defined as part of a larger project. Candidates for the
studentship should therefore use the research statement in their application to
explain how their research experience and interests might connect with this
larger project and how the project might in turn fit in with their longer-term
research plans. They should also provide details of their academic record to date.

Please clearly signal your candidacy for this project studentship in your
application.
