Meeting Description:

1st Meeting of Young Researchers and Doctors in Romance Philology, Linguistics, Literatures and Related Areas

This activity is organized and promoted by Revista de Filología Románica. 'Romance Philology Today' is the provisional title that we have thought for the 1st Meeting of Young Researchers and Doctors in Romance Philology, Linguistics and Literatures and Related Areas that we are planning to hold at the Complutense University of Madrid during the first week of November, 2011. This meeting will be structured in several round tables of dialogue, whose aim will be to display the research in course and the present state of the discipline in the different European universities. 

Call for Papers:

We propose the following research lines:
 
- Romance linguistics (synchronic or diachronic): phonetics and phonology, morphology, syntax of the Romance languages 
- The Romance lexicon 
- People and place names in Romania 
- Medieval Romance literature 
- Compared literature in Romance languages
- Text editing in the Romance languages
- Catalan, Spanish, Galician, Occitan, Portuguese and Romanian language & literature
- Sociolinguistics and languages in contact in Romania 
- Mutual intelligibility and Didactics of the Romance languages 
- 'Lesser Used' Romance languages: Asturian, Aragonese, Friulan, Sephardic, Mirandese, Rumantsch, Sardinian, Sicilian, etc.
 
The working languages of the conference will be any Romance language.

Notice of acceptance will be within a week after receiving of the abstract or the maximum deadline of 30th July, 2011.
