Meeting Description:

The 7th International Congress on English Grammar (7th ICEG) to be held in Hong Kong follows the successes of the first six congresses in previous years (1st ICEG 1999, 2nd ICEG 2004, 3rd ICEG 2005, 4th ICEG 2007, 5th ICEG 2008 and 6th ICEG 2010).  The Congress aims to promote interaction and discussion among researchers interested in the fields of English Grammar, Lexicography, English Linguistics, English Language Teaching, and Information and Communication Technology in Language Teaching.

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hunghom, Kowloon, Hong Kong

Early Bird (by 18 November 2011)	
Regular: HK$2,500
Student: HK$1,250

Late registration (from 19 November 2011)

Call for Papers:

The Organising Committee of the Congress is now accepting proposals for papers to be presented at the Congress. The language of the Congress will be English.

Theme Areas:

The congress organizing committee welcomes abstracts of paper presentations addressing the following areas:

1. Space
2. Multisemiotic
3. Discourse analysis
4. Globalisation and language
5. Sociolinguistics
6. Language and education
7. Curriculum design and development
8. Professional communication

Important Dates:

Deadline for call for papers: 19 September 2011
Notice of acceptance: by end October 2011
Early bird registration: by 18 November 2011
Cancellation (50% refunds): by 18 November 2011 (No refund after 18 November 2011)

Abstract Submissions:

All presentations will be 45 minutes in length, including question time.

Your abstract (in MS Word Version) should be a maximum of 250 words (excluding references). Please also include in your abstract: (1) theme area (state one of the above areas), (2) title of your paper, (3) your name and title, (4) your affiliation, and (5) your e-mail address and mailing address.  

Each participant can submit only one abstract as the lead author and one abstract as a co-author. Lead authors must register by 18 November 2011 in order for the paper to be included in the congress programme. Please send submissions to: egiceg at inet.polyu.edu.hk.
