Description:

The Center for Language Research, School of Computer Science and
Engineering at the University of Aizu, Japan is now accepting applications
for a tenure-track position at the Associate Professor or Full Professor
level, based on candidate qualifications.

Starting Date: March 1, 2012
Application Deadline: May 6, 2011 (winning candidate announced in July)

Qualifications:
-  Doctorate (in hand)
-  Strong commitment to and experience in researching and teaching spoken
and written English that is appropriate for university students and working
professionals in science and engineering (ideally, computer science and
computer engineering) as well as in related business fields
-  Scholarly publications, presentations, and professional experience
(ideally, relevant to English language education for science and engineering)
-  Skills in academic leadership, team-building, and policy-making
-  Native or near-native English-speaker proficiency 

Note: Science or engineering degrees or experience are not required;
however, they are highly advantageous.

Duties: Teach four to five courses per semester (one course meets for 90
minutes each week), develop original innovative instruction, participate in
projects, serve on committees, conduct research, network internationally,
and publish widely

Salary: Based on experience, qualifications, and rank assigned

The University of Aizu is the first university in Japan solely dedicated to
computer science and computer engineering. It has approximately 1,200
students at the undergraduate and graduate level, and about 40% of its
faculty is non-Japanese, coming from roughly 15 different countries. The

conducted/printed in both English and Japanese.
