Description:

The Department of Linguistics at the Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf 
invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher whose main research
focus is on semantics of natural languages and its interface with syntax.
Candidates are encouraged to apply who are interested in crosslinguistic
variation in this domain and/or who draw on research insights from one or
more disciplines of cognitive science (philosophy, logic, computer science
or psycholinguistics). 

Terms of Appointment:
The postdoc's primary responsibility will be to conduct research in the
semantics/syntax interface. The postdoc will also teach a limited amount of
classes (to prepare herself/himself for an academic job market) and will
also have small organizational responsibilities. 

The position is to be filled as soon as possible and is to run until
September 30, 2014. Salary is on the German scale TV-L E13, %100. 

Application and Selection Process:
Candidates must have completed a Ph.D. degree (or an equivalent degree) by
the time of application. Candidates with a background in linguistics and in
one or more disciplines of cognitive science (philosophy, logic, computer
science or psycholinguistics) will be considered, however a strength in
semantics and its interface with syntax is required. For full
consideration, send an application and arrange to have three letters of
reference sent by April 8, 2011. Later applications may be considered as
well, until the position has been filled.

The application materials should include a CV, a very brief statement of
research interests (up to 4 pages), a writing sample, as well as links to
papers (or electronic versions thereof). The subject line should include
