The University of Stirling is pleased to announce a new Master's degree
programme in English Language and Linguistics, beginning in September 2011.

The programme is centred around advanced study of the English language,
covering both theoretical approaches to linguistics and their application
in a broader cultural context. Students will study how language works, with
a particular focus on the structure and varieties of English, both
contemporary and historical. The flexible programme contains options on a
diverse range of topics, including Language and Cognition, Old and Middle
English, Discourse Analysis, Evolutionary Linguistics, Historical
Linguistics and the History of English, Sociolinguistics and Varieties of
English, Corpus Linguistics and Language Learning: Theory and Research.
