Meeting Description:

The University of Minho will host a one week Summer School on Neuro and Psycholinguistic Approaches to Language Processing. The Summer School aims at graduate students and beginning postdocs working on any aspect of the cognitive and neural processes involved in the acquisition and processing of language. Its goal is to bring together top specialists in the field of neurolinguistics while providing an opportunity for junior researchers to present and discuss their work. To this end, there will be two Poster Sessions in addition to the lectures. The Summer School is organized by the Centro de Estudos Humanísticos (CEHUM), University of Minho, Portugal, and the Portuguese Association of Linguistics (APL).

Poster Session:

The UMinho Summer School of Linguistics 2011 will include two Poster Sessions in order to give junior researchers a chance to present their work and discuss it with leading specialists in the field of neurolinguistics and psycholinguistics. Topics include:

- Cognitive and neural processes involved in language perception, comprehension and production
- Word recognition, syntactic processing
- Language acquisition
- Bilingual processing
- Neurobilingualism
- Language disorders
- Research methods in psycholinguistics and neurolinguistics.

Deadline for Receipt of Abstracts: May 1
Notification of Acceptance: May 30

Submission Details:

Abstracts should have no more than 2 pages, 11pt. text, including text, examples, and references. All abstracts must be sent as pdf files to uminhosummerschool at gmail.com
