Meeting Description:

The Utrecht Institute of Linguistics OTS is pleased to announce the 16th Sinn und Bedeutung conference, which will take place from 6 to 8 September 2011 in Utrecht. 

Invited Speakers:

- Maria Aloni (ILLC, University of Amsterdam)
- Chris Barker (New York University)
- Lisa Matthewson (University of British Columbia)
- Susan Rothstein (Bar-Ilan University) 

2nd Call for Papers:

We invite submissions devoted to natural language semantics, pragmatics, cross-linguistic semantics, the syntax-semantics interface, psycholinguistic studies related to meaning, and the philosophy of language.

45 papers will be selected for a 45 (35+10) minute presentation.

One person can submit at most one abstract as a sole author and one as co-author. We will not accept abstracts that at the time of the deadline have been published or accepted for publication.

Abstracts should be anonymous, in the form of a PDF file, at most 2 pages in length, including examples and references, using a 12 pt. font with 2.5 cm (or 1 inch) margins on all sides. You will be also required to submit a short abstract (10 lines).

The Utrecht Institute of Linguistics OTS will organise two workshops as satellite events, one on degree semantics, and another one on weak referentiality. Details about the workshops will appear on the conference website (http://www.hum.uu.nl/sub16/).
