Description:

Yale University, Office of English Language Programs, seeks to hire a
full-time lector of English as a Second Language in a 10-month academic
year appointment beginning August 1, 2011. Minimum requirements are:
Master's degree in TESOL/TEFL/TESL, (Applied) Linguistics or related field,
and two years experience. Initial one-year appointment with possibility of
renewal. The successful candidate will have native proficiency in English,
teaching experience showing a strong commitment to English as a Second
Language instruction/pedagogy, experience developing curriculum and
assessment tools, and experience teaching graduate and professional
students. Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience
teaching English for Professional Purposes in an academic setting,
particularly Business English. The lector's teaching responsibility
consists of three to four courses per semester of intermediate and
advanced-level academic English language courses and includes developing
innovative teaching materials and integrating computer-assisted instruction
within a communicative framework. Salary commensurate with experience and
