3rd International Conference on Anglophone Studies
7 - 8 September 2011

The Department of English and American Studies at Tomas Bata University in Zlín announces its third annual conference on Anglophone studies entitled Theories and Practices. This event offers scholars an opportunity to present the results of their research and discuss newly developed theories as well as their practical applicabilities.

Keynote Speakers:

Jan F. Ullrich, the foremost applied linguist on the Lakota Amerindian language, the linguistic director of The Lakota Language Consortium, and the author of the New Lakota Dictionary.

Ludmila Urbanová, a specialist in Discourse Analysis, Sociolinguistics, Pragmatics and Stylistic Analysis, one of the first Corpus Linguistics researchers in the Czech Republic, and the author of several of books and publications.

The registration fee of 1000 CZK covers a copy of the conference proceedings, organizational costs, and refreshments. The fee shall be paid by invoice by 15 June 2011. Participants from abroad may pay in cash upon arrival.

Call for Papers:

We welcome papers from the following fields:  

- Linguistics 
- Translation studies 
- Literature 
- Cultural studies 

The submission guidelines may be downloaded from the conference website.

Selected papers will be published in a peer-reviewed conference proceedings. 

Please note: The proceedings will include selected papers from the conference; acceptance of all papers is subject to the editors' decision based on the reviewers' comments. The proceedings will be submitted for evaluation to Thomson Reuters's ISI Web of Knowledge.
