Description:

The Centre for English Language Communication (CELC), National University
of Singapore invites applications for full-time non-tenure track positions,
as follows:

1. Teaching Fellows/Senior Teaching Fellows

The candidate should:
-  have a Master's degree in Applied Linguistics, TESOL or related field 
-  a sound record of and strong commitment to teaching, preferably with
some teaching experience at the tertiary level

The successful candidate is expected to:
-  teach various courses at undergraduate level
-  serve the Centre and the University through involvement in ELT-related
projects and activities

2. Lecturers

The candidate should:
-  have a PhD degree or Master's degree in Applied Linguistics, TESOL or
related field 
-  demonstrate a sound record of and strong commitment to teaching, with a
minimum of five years' teaching experience at the tertiary level

The successful candidate is expected to:
-  develop and teach various courses, both at undergraduate and
postgraduate levels 
-  undertake pedagogical research
-  serve the Centre and the University through involvement in ELT-related
projects and activities

3. Lecturers (with a special focus on writing within a residential learning
environment)

The candidate should:
-  have a PhD or Master's degree 
-  demonstrate a sound record of and strong commitment to teaching, with a
minimum of five years' teaching experience at the tertiary level

The successful candidate is expected to:
-  develop and teach a topic-specific inter-disciplinary writing module and
integrate it into the University Town's residential learning environment 
-  teach other courses offered by CELC (depending on deployment needs)
-  undertake pedagogical research and/or research in the candidate's
content area

About Centre for English Language Communication:
CELC runs a range of courses which include English Proficiency, English for
Academic Purposes, English for Specific Purposes, Business Communication,
Critical Thinking and Writing, Inter-disciplinary Writing, English for
Graduate Students, and Thesis Writing. The Centre also runs courses and
special programmes for the university's corporate and administrative staff.   

Additional Information:
The commencing salary is competitive and will depend on the candidate's
qualifications, experience and level of appointment offered. The successful
candidate will be required to commence work either in December 2011 or July
2012. Only shortlisted candidates will be notified.

Shortlisted candidates will be asked to provide letters of recommendation,
samples of writing lessons and other relevant documents.
