Abstract:

This volume contains 29 papers selected from among those presented at the 
13th Hispanic Linguistics Symposium, which took place from October 21-24, 
2009 at the Universidad de Puerto Rico in Río Piedras. The papers are grouped 
into sections on sociolinguistics and language variation; acquisition and applied 
linguistics; phonology; and syntax, semantics, and pragmatics. They include the 
plenaries from John M. Lipski, Pedro Martín Butragueño, Ana T. Pérez-Leroux,
