Assistant Professor of English (Linguistics)

The Department of English at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania invites 
applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor with a 
specialization in Linguistics (AA# 20 - 1 - 118) to teach Structure of English, 
History of the English Language, English Grammar, and first year writing. 
Required: Ph.D. in Linguistics (Sociolinguistics, Historical Linguistics, or 
related) by August 2012, experience teaching linguistics as well as college-
level writing, and a demonstrated commitment to working with faculty and 
students across disciplines. Preferred: Experience developing curricula for 
secondary English Education majors, demonstrated ability to integrate 
traditional and digital teaching and research methods, and demonstrated 
ability to work with diverse populations. Applications should show strong 
potential for scholarly growth. Preliminary interviews to be held at MLA or by 
alternative method for applicants not attending. 

Finalist(s) for this position must communicate well and must successfully 
complete an interview process with the department faculty. Recommendation 
for hiring requires a majority vote by the full-time department faculty.
