Meeting Description:

WIGL is an annual conference sponsored by the Linguistics Students Organization at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The workshop is open to presentations in any field of linguistics. This year's conference will also include a special session entitled 'American Indian Languages and Linguistics'. The proceedings are published online in the LSO Working Papers in Linguistics.

Call for Papers:

The UW-Madison Linguistics Students Organization invites submissions for papers to be presented at the 10th annual Workshop in General Linguistics (WIGL), to be held Saturday-Sunday, March 17-18 at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Submissions for the main session are welcome in any field of descriptive, applied or theoretical linguistics. 

This year's conference will also include a special session entitled 'American Indian Languages and Linguistics'. Submissions for this session are welcome from descriptive, applied or theoretical approaches concerning any American Indian language(s).

After the workshop, presenters from both sessions may submit papers for publication in the UW-Madison Working Papers in Linguistics.

Abstracts should be at most one page, with one-inch margins and 12-point font. A second page may be included for references and/or data. The abstract should indicate whether the paper is for the general or special session. Abstracts should be submitted online via Easy Abs:

The deadline for submission is 12 am CST on Sunday, January 15. You will be notified of the status of your submission by mid-February. Submission requirements are posted at the site above.
