Meeting Description:

New York State TESOL (NYS TESOL) & TESOL/AL Program, Teachers College, Columbia University are pleased to announce their 33rd Annual Applied Linguistics Winter Conference 'Connections: TESOL and Applied Linguistics in a Global Context.' 

Call for Papers:

Proposal submission deadline: November 20, 2011

The Committee for Applied Linguistics Winter Conference 2012 invites submission of proposals for the February 2012 conference. Proposal topics may address the conference theme or any area of English language teaching and learning including, but not limited to, technology, assessment, curricula, theory, research, and best practices.

Presentation Formats:

Three types of presentation formats will be independently reviewed. 

1. 35-minute presentations (25-minute paper presentation and 10-minute Q&A/discussion) on original research or pedagogical practices related to applied linguistics
2. 80-minute workshops (including 10- minute Q&A/discussion)
3. Poster presentations to be displayed for a 2-hour block of time

Poster presentations are intended to be a format for reports of work in progress. Paper, workshop and poster selection will be competitive. For all formats, preference will be given to proposals related to the conference theme.  

Submission Guidelines:

All proposals must be emailed to alwc2012proposalchair at gmail.com.

In your email, please include:

1. A 300-word summary plus name, address, affiliation, and e-mail address
2. A 50-word abstract for the program book
3. A list of any technology requirements
4. Subject line states proposal type: 'AL Conf Paper'/'AL Conf Poster'/'AL Conf Workshop'
