Meeting Description:

International Conference on Rhetoric 'Days of Ivo Skarić' is the first scientific conference on rhetoric in Croatia. It is an international meeting for the purpose of presenting recent research within the interdisciplinary field of rhetoric and argumentation theory, as well as neighboring disciplines. It bears the name of Professor Emeritus Ivo Skarić was interested in various areas of phonetics, defined as the science of speech. Exploring the phenomenon of speech communications, he revealed a natural connection between phonetics and rhetoric, both in the education and the evaluation of public speakers (politicians, teachers, etc.). The organizers hope that this meeting, which is a first, becomes a regular meeting point for rhetoricians from around the world, and that it will contribute to the further development of rhetoric. 

Call for Papers:

Scholars working in the field of rhetoric and neighboring disciplines are invited to submit. 

Submission Guidelines:

1. Abstracts should be submitted no later than 15th January 2012 by email to dis at ffzg.hr.
2. Following a peer review process, notifications of acceptance will be sent by 15th February 2012.
3. Abstracts should be written in Croatian or English and should not exceed 500 words, excluding author details (name and affiliation) and references.
4. Abstracts should include a description of the research, aim and method and the most important results.
5. Conference papers will be published in the Proceedings.
