Description:

To mark the occasion of York's 50th anniversary, the University intends to 
create up to twenty new Chairs and Readerships. The scheme includes the 
Department of Language and Linguistic Science. The University is seeking 
outstanding individuals who have achieved distinction in their fields who will 
build further on the University's academic success, enhance our teaching and 
research expertise and increase our international competitiveness. Applications 
are also welcome from candidates interested in working in inter-disciplinary 
areas. 

The Department of Language and Linguistic Science seeks candidates whose 
research interests will complement our current major specialisations, or will 
increase the breadth of study within the department. Please see

Candidates must be academically strong and demonstrate a strategic fit within
