Department of Linguistics and Modern Languages
Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor

The Department is a young and vibrant Department established in 2004. It 
now invites applications for a professoriate position in second/third language 
acquisition, with teaching/research background in one of the following target 
languages: French, German, Korean and Spanish.

Applicants should have (i) a PhD degree in a related discipline; and (ii) strong 
commitment to research and teaching. The appointee will (a) teach relevant 
undergraduate and postgraduate courses; (b) supervise projects and theses 
of undergraduate, MA, MPhil and PhD students; (c) develop research in their 
areas of expertise; and (d) undertake administrative duties.  

Appointment will normally be made on contract basis for up to three years 
initially commencing August 2012, which, subject to mutual agreement, may 
lead to longer-term appointment or substantiation later.

Salary and Fringe Benefits:
Salary will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and 
experience. The University offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package, 
including medical care, a contract-end gratuity for an appointment of two 
years or longer, and housing benefits for eligible appointees. Further
