Description:

Assistant Professor of Spanish Linguistics (Phonetics/Phonology)

The Department of Romance Languages at the University of Georgia invites
applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Spanish Linguistics,
beginning Fall 2012. Applicants should have a primary research and teaching
interest in Spanish phonetics and phonology; experience in another area of
Spanish linguistics and/or a second Romance language highly desirable.
Responsibilities include teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels,
maintaining an active research program, and mentoring student research in
the MA and PhD programs in Hispanic Linguistics.

Ph.D./ABD (must have Ph.D. in hand at time of appointment).
Native/near-native proficiency in Spanish and English. Evidence of quality
teaching and commitment to research.

The committee will begin reviewing applications on November 21, 2011;
applications received after this date cannot be assured consideration. Send
