Description:

The University of Western Ontario, Department of Modern Languages and 
Literatures, invites applications for a probationary (tenure track) position at the 
rank of Assistant Professor in Spanish Linguistics to begin July 1, 2012. PhD 
completed before 1 July 2012 in Spanish Applied Linguistics, specialization in 
phonology/phonetics applied to bilingualism, second language acquisition or 
language contact required. Experience in language program coordination, an 
interest in classroom research, excellence in teaching and research and native 
or near-native fluency in Spanish are essential. Responsibilities will include 
coordination of language courses and supervision of Graduate Teaching 
Assistants, teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, M.A. and Ph.D. 
supervision, and an active role in the Linguistics and Hispanic Studies 
programmes.

portfolio that includes teaching evaluations, and three letters of reference to
