Call for Papers:

The 2nd International Conference on Law, Translation and Culture (LTC) invites theoretical studies, application cases, and work-in-progress papers in legal translation, court interpreting and legal culture. It welcomes participation of academics and researchers of different cultural and language backgrounds from different disciplines and across jurisdictions. The themes include, but are not limited to:

Court interpreting and multimodality 
Cultural approach to legal translation/court interpreting 
Ethics of legal translators and court interpreters 
Fundamentals in legal translation/court interpreting 
Language rights and legal translation/court interpreting 
Legal bilingualisation/multilingualisation 
Legal cultures 
Legal discourse and legal translation/court interpreting 
Legal translation and semiotics 
Training and testing of translators and interpreters in legal settings

Abstract Submission:

All individual presentations will be 30 minutes in length, including 10 minutes Q&A.
 
Your abstract (in MS Word Version) should be a maximum of 250 words (excluding references). Please include in your abstract: (1) the title of your paper, (2) theme area (state one of the above areas), (3) your name and academic title, (4) your affiliation, and (5) your e-mail address and mailing address. Each participant can submit only one abstract as the lead author and one abstract as a co-author. Lead authors must register by 30 April 2012 in order for the paper to be included in the conference programme.
