Call for Papers:

We invite proposals, in English or French, for papers in any area of linguistics and especially papers on the main conference theme. 'Language and Dialect on the Outer Edge' will explore languages and dialects, their roles, and the factors that sustain and threaten their existence.  

Abstracts should be no more than 300 words in length, excluding title and references. The deadline for submissions has been extended to Monday September 30, 2011. Abstracts will be peer-reviewed and replies will be sent by mid-October. Please see the webpage for more details:

Please submit abstracts by regular mail at the address below or by email to apla_35 at cbu.ca as an attachment (preferably in MSWord or pdf). In the subject field of the email, enter 'APLA 35 Abstract'. In the body of the email, include the following information:

1. Title of the paper
2. Name(s) of presenter(s)
3. Department and affiliation
4. Student, faculty member, retired, other
5. Email address
6. Postal Address and phone number
7. Indicate the session the abstract is for:
(a) the conference theme or (b) the general linguistic theme

Appel à Communications :

Les auteurs sont invités à soumettre des propositions portant sur tous les domaines de la linguistique et plus spécialement sur le thème du colloque « langue et dialecte périphériques extérieur », consacré aux langues et dialectes, à leurs rôles ainsi qu'aux facteurs qui garantissent/favorisent ou menacent leur existence. 

Les résumés ne doivent pas dépasser 300 mots, excluant le titre et les références. La date limite pour la soumission des résumés est le 30 septembre 2011. L'étude des propositions sera faite de façon anonyme. La notification d'acceptation/de rejet aura lieu en mi-octobre 2011. 

Veuillez faire parvenir les résumés par la poste à l'adresse indiquée ci-dessous ou par courriel à apla_35 at cbu.ca sous forme de pièces jointes (format .doc de préférence). Inscrivez dans la partie « objet » de votre courriel la mention « APLA 35 Résumé » et indiquez les éléments suivants dans votre courriel : 

1. Le titre de votre proposition 
2. Votre nom où noms 
3. Votre affiliation 
4. S'il y a lieu, mentionnez le fait que vous êtes étudiant(e) ou retraité(e)
