Meeting Description:

SEMDIAL 2012 (SeineDial)
16th Workshop on the Semantics and Pragmatics of Dialogue
Paris, September 19-21, 2012

Invited Speakers:

Eve V. Clark (Stanford University)
Geert-Jan M. Kruijff (DFKI-Saarbrücken)
François Recanati (Institut Jean Nicod, École Normale Supérieure)

The SEMDIAL series of workshops brings together researchers working on the semantics and pragmatics of dialogue in fields such as artificial intelligence, computational linguistics, formal semantics/pragmatics, philosophy, psychology, and neuroscience (see past SemDials here: http://www.illc.uva.nl/semdial/). In 2012 the workshop will be hosted by Université Paris-Diderot (Paris 7). The Semdial workshops are always stimulating and fun, and Paris is of course one of the greatest cities to visit, especially in September. SeineDial will be immediately preceded by a workshop on 'Dialogue and Contextualism' (a separate announcement on this will appear shortly) and will feature a special session on The Acquisition of Dialogue.
