A heritage speaker is someone who grows up with a family language in the home which is different from the surrounding dominant language. This conference focuses on structural change in the language of heritage speakers.

Call for Papers:

Abstracts for presentations are solicited on structural changes in heritage languages. Priority will be given to work that addresses intergenerational changes and/or developments in the domains of TAME (aspect, tense, mood, evidentiality) or argument realization (i.e. case, adpositions, DOM, word order, valency).

Talks will be 35 minutes long, including 10 minutes for discussion. Abstracts should be one page, font size 12 pt., with one-inch margins. A second page may (optionally) be used for examples, tables or graphs, and references. In order to maintain anonymity during the review process, please do not include your name or otherwise identify yourself anywhere in your abstract. Depending on the number of submissions, some abstracts may be accepted as posters presentations. Abstracts should be sent by email in pdf format to heritagelanguagesworkshop at gmail.com.

Please use 'abstract submission heritage languages' as subject heading. The body of the message should include the author's name(s), title, and contact information.
