Role: Software Engineer (Quality Assurance)
Location: Ulm, Germany

Role description:
As a Software Engineer you will work on speech enhancement solutions for 
hands-free telephony and ASR in mobile, automotive and home entertainment 
applications. You will be responsible for implementing Automotive SPICE 
conform development processes. You will also help setting up static and 
dynamic SW testing (PC_Lint, QA-C, Purify, vargrind, etc.). You will belong 
to the department of Acoustic Speech Enhancement, located in the Nuance 
office in Ulm, Germany.
 
-  Responsible for SW quality and testing
   *  Defining and implementing development and test processes according to 
Automotive SPICE for the NUANCE speech signal enhancement (SSE) and 
the in-car communications (ICC) products.
   *  Support the research and development teams in "living" these processes
   *  Help improving the SW quality by optimizing the existing code base
   *  Help creating all necessary documentations and process descriptions
   *  Analyze customer requirements concerning QA issues
-  Design and development of test processes,  tests and test tools
   *  Help setting up a static code analysis process with QA-C, PC-Lint, and 
other tools
   *  Implement and accomplish runtime tests (unit tests, regression tests, 
algorithmic tests)
   *  Create test related documents

Skills and experience required:
-  The candidate should have a master's degree in electrical engineering, 
communications technology or a related field; industry experience in this 
domain is preferred
-  Some years of relevant working experience
-  Strong programming skills in C / C++ and MATLAB
-  Experience in Automotive SPICE or CMMI
-  Academic background in digital signal processing, speech and audio 
processing
-  Experience in QA-C, PC-Lint, VARGRIND, or similar tools
-  Fluent in German and English

Preferred:
-  Experience in software development for embedded systems in either 
automotive, consumer electronics or telecommunication
