Description:

Appen Butler Hill is looking to fill an immediate opening for a 
Vietnamese Linguist/Phonetician with computer experience related 
to writing text-manipulation scripts, and familiarity with new 
technologies and Unix operating system.
 
The position is part time, requiring approximately 5 hours per week, 
and will last until December 31st, 2012.  This is a remote, global 
position.
 
Key Requirements:
-  Linguistic degree (BA)
-  Experience with phonetic transcription required
-  Experience with writing text-manipulation scripts
-  Familiarity with Unix operating system
 
Tasks:
-  Review and correct the input/output of the tokenizer
-  Review and correct the input/output of the formatter
-  Review and correct word prons
-  Review and lexicalize out of vocabulary words 
-  Review, correct and add spoken forms to word names
-  Serve as language expert for research
-  Review and clean up lexicon-origin attributes
-  Phonetic transcription

Additional Information:
-  Ideal candidates should have a great attention to details (possibly 
have experience as a teacher) and be highly motivated in a fast pace 
environment
-  Commitment of 5 hours/week required
-  Commitment to check email and respond to client requests every 
day
-  Windows OS
