Call for Papers and Submission Information for Authors

The TFLTA Journal*
Volume 4
Spring 2013

*(online peer-review publication of the Tennessee Foreign Language Teaching
Association)

The Editorial Board of The TFLTA Journal would like to invite you to submit
scholarly articles (i.e., research conducted in the second language (L2)
classroom; L2 instructional strategies; meta-analyses; assessment issues;
integration of authentic literature/culture into the classroom;
content-enriched and content-based instruction; digital literacies; common
core alignment; research-supported position papers) of interest to K-16 world
language (modern, classical and second languages) educators.

The deadline for the Spring 2013 issue of the journal is March 1, 2013, in
order to allow ample time for a blind review of submitted manuscripts and the
editing of accepted articles. Earlier submissions are most welcome and are
encouraged. Authors will be notified by the Editor upon receipt of their
manuscripts. Please follow submission guidelines noted below.
•
-Submit your manuscript electronically to Dr. Patricia Davis-Wiley, Editor,
The TFLTA Journal, at: pdwiley at utk.edu

•-Put TFLTA Journal article submission in the subject line of your email and
include your name, title, school/office affiliation, email address, contact
phones numbers and working title of the manuscript in the body of the email.

•-Maximum length (double-spaced) for manuscripts is 20 pages, with 1" margins
all around.
•
-Create a Microsoft WORD document, using Times Roman 12 font.

-Follow APA '09 (6th edition) format for headings, references, figures and
tables.

-Include a title page with your name and affiliation and a title page without
your name; this will expedite the blind-review process; paginate the article.

-Use [insert Table X here] or [insert Figure Y here] in the body of the text
where tables and figures need to be placed; insert separate pages for tables
and figures at the end of paper, following Notes and References.

-Tables and figures may need to be re-sized in the final manuscript;
therefore, save them as high resolution jpeg or .docx files.
•
-Include a brief (150-word maximum) abstract of the article (to be placed
following the title) and a 75-word maximum biographic statement for each
author (at end of the article).
•
Authors are encouraged to submit their manuscripts ahead of the deadline for
the Spring 2013 issue. Manuscripts for subsequent issues are welcome
year-round.
•
Inquires concerning proposed submissions are welcome and should be addressed
to the Editor of The TFLTA Journal at: pdwiley at utk.edu. Please put TFLTA
Journal article in the subject line of your email.
