Meeting Description:

The conference welcomes innovative papers on formal description of languages, as well as on the construction, management and use of language resources, including manually constructed lexicons and grammars. In addition, it aims at bringing together linguists and computer scientists.

The thematic session of the 31st International Conference on Lexis and Grammar is dedicated to Adverbial complements. Despite a number of studies (for example, Alexiadou 2004, Bonami et al. 2003, Cinque 1999, Charolles 2003, Gezundhajt 2000, Gross 1990, Guimier 1993 and 1996, Molinier et Levrier 2000, Mørdrup 1976, Nøjgaard 1992), this heterogeneous class continues to raise problems which are not only theoretical but have also effects on linguistic applications.

Call for Papers:

We invite all interested persons to submit papers which can be presented in twenty minutes (plus a ten-minute discussion). Papers should be anonymous and not exceed 8 pages (about 2000 characters per page), bibliography and footnotes included. Formatting guidelines can be downloaded from our website.

Submissions will be refereed blindly by an international selection committee. The scientific committee assigns submissions to reviewers on the basis of their domains of expertise. Except in special cases (submission too long, too short or inappropriate) each submission is sent to two reviewers. The final selection is established by the scientific committee.

Thematic Session:

The scientific committee is in charge of assigning accepted articles either to the main or to the thematic session. The size of the thematic session is not fixed in advance and may vary with the number of eligible submissions.

Note that the submission process consists in filling in a form including a little abstract, and in attaching the submitted paper.

Notification: The authors are notified of the result in a message including the comments from the reviewers. These comments are sent to authors to help them prepare their presentation or understand the assessment of their submission.

Important Dates:

Submission deadline: May 7, 2012 (Monday)
Notification of acceptance: June 7, 2012 (Thursday)
Final version: July 7, 2012 (Saturday)
Conference: September 19-22, 2012

The proceedings will be published in French and English after the conference. The publishing details as well as the deadline for the submission of the final versions of the articles will be communicated at a later stage. There will be pre-proceedings handed out or electronic pre-proceedings during the conference.
