We are pleased to announce the 9th Workshop on Formal Linguistics, to be held on August 30 - 31, 2012 at Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. 

Mini-Courses:

We are also pleased to announce that, as part of the activities of the workshop, Professors Chris Kennedy (University of Chicago) and Gregory Carlson (University of Rochester) will offer 3-day mini-courses from August 27 to August 29, 2012. Course attendance is open to everyone.

Call for Papers:

Abstracts are invited for oral presentations (20-minute presentation plus 10-minute discussion) and poster sessions on any topic concerning formal accounts to meaning and structure in natural language, and which explores either core aspects of grammar, or some interface phenomena (syntax-semantics, syntax-prosody, morpho-syntax, morpho-phonology, semantics-pragmatics, lexical semantics, language acquisition, language change, language processing, etc.).

The official language of the conference is English.

Abstracts should be at most two pages long (A4 paper), including examples and references, with 1 inch/2.5 cm margins on all sides and 12pt font size. Submissions are limited to 1 individual and 1 joint abstract per author, or 2 joint abstracts per author. Abstracts should be written in English.
