Description:

The Department of Classical, Middle Eastern and Asian Languages and 
Cultures at Queens College, City University of New York, has authorization 
to make a tenure-track appointment in Korean language and linguistics at 
the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin in the Fall semester of 2012.

Responsibilities include overseeing and teaching in the Elementary 
Program in Korean language, teaching undergraduate courses on Korean 
linguistics, and contributing to departmental programs in Korean and East 
Asian Studies and as well as to the College's liberal arts curriculum.

Applicants should have proven experience and a demonstrated commitment 
to teaching Korean language at all levels as well as evidence of an active 
research program in linguistics. Preference will be given to candidates with 
a research specialty in phonology, phonetics, semantics, and/or language 
acquisition. A PhD and native or near-native competency in Korean and 
English are required. Preference will be given to applicants who have a PhD 
in hand at the time of application.
