Description:

For more than 100 years Pace University has been preparing students to

bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs in the College of Health

Science and Information Systems. 

The English as a Second Language (ESL) Program within the English 
Department at Pace University's New York City campus offers credit-bearing 
writing courses for approximately 300 matriculated second-language 
undergraduate and graduate students per semester, university-wide. The 
Director of ESL position will manage the ESL program as well as oversee 
writing placement for approximately 1600 incoming undergraduate students 
(both ESL and non-ESL) per year. The position also involves serving as 
liaison to multiple university offices regarding ESL and writing placement 
issues.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Applied Linguistics, TESOL, or a closely related field
- Experience teaching ESL/EFL writing to post-secondary students
- Experience in test development and test administration
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Experience with current classroom and placement-testing technologies
